corn pulav

Corn pulav is one of my favourite dish,.simple and very tasty  and most of the kids love  it.
Initially I used to make it with only corn with referance from other blogs, later I started adding some veggies so that my son can have  and with less spicy ,

Ingredients:

Corn
½-1 cup
Bayleaf
1
Ginger &garlic
1 tsp
Onion
1(medium)
Tomato
1(small)
Green chilli
1
Garam masala
1 tsp
Chilli powder
½ tsp
Salt
As per taste
Coriander leaves
For garnishing
Mustard seeds
1 tsp
Basmathi rice
1 cup
Peas
¼ cup
Carrot
1



 























Method:

  • First wash and soak basmathi rice for 20-30 mins
  • Take a pan or cooker add 2 -3 tbls of oil,when hot add mustard seeds to splutter .
  • Now add bayleaf  and onion ( you can slice or chop) and sauté well ,add ginger garlic crushed to it.
  • Now add  chopped tomato and green chillis (slit it into two) and sauté well  for 3 mins.
  • Add all masala powders  and sauté for few mins ,now add corn to it and mix well , let the flame be in low/medium .
  • Now add  soaked basmathi rice and 2 cups of water ,stir well and  add salt as per taste.
  • Cover the cooker /pan  for cooking.
  • Once done garnish it with lots of coriander leaves,serve hot with some raitha and chips.
  • Taste best when hot.

Note:

It is not necessary to add peas and carrot,it is purely optional(myson loves peas ,so I usually add for most of my dishes)
