- Dry fry the rice and moong dhal for about a minute or two. Once its done wash it.
- Add 6 cups of water, salt and cook it in electric cooker.
- Once its done mash the pongal using a potato masher. Add some hot water according to the consistency.
- In a separate pan add the ghee,cashew and jeera. Fry it. then add the pepper to it.
- Pour that to the pongal and mix it. Serve hot with chutney.
