Dal Fry (Tadka dal)



                       Ingredients:


Toor Dhal

¾ Cup

Moong Dhal

¼ Cup

Channa Dhal

2 Tbs

Onion

¾

Tomato

1 (medium)

Green Chilli

4

Red Chilli

4

Coriander Powder

1 Tsp

Garam masala

½ Tsp

Bay Leaf

1

Cinnamon Stick

½

Curry Leaf

Jeera

1 Tsp

Ghee

2 Tsp

Salt

As Needed



Method:

  • Wash all the dhal and pressure cook it for 30 mins.
  • Finely chop the onion and tomato.
  • Heat a pan, add the oil, bay leaf and cinnamon stick. Stir it. Then add the onion and fry it for 2 mins.
  • Then add tomato and fry it. Once the tomatoes are cooked add the Coriander powder, garam masala and salt. Stir it.
  • Then add the cooked dhal.  Mix it. Close the lid and cook it for 5-10 mins. Once it’s done take it out of flame.  Transfer them to serving bowl.
  • Heat another pan and add ghee, jeera . Stir it. Then add chopped green chilli, red chilli, curry leaf. Stir it for few seconds and pour them to the dhal. Then add the lemon juice.
  • Serve hot with rice or chapathi’s.
